View life's trials not as burdens but as refining flames. We're often advised to cast off burdens that hinder us, but what if I suggest that embracing the weight ordained to you brings purpose & guides your path?
You, your story and your life experience will be our main focus; don’t let this deter you. Research has shown growth in self-knowledge and awareness increases a person’s calmness, curiosity, clarity, compassion, confidence, courage, creativity, and connectedness. These are known as the 8C’s in Internal Family Systems.
I place great importance on healthy boundaries, not to hinder connection, but with the intention to protect the goodness that is within. Many of us have experienced boundaries being breached or non-existent, leaving us vulnerable and exposed. While vulnerability is celebrated in today's culture, it can be draining even dangerous without healthy boundaries in place.
I am your instrument for your healing transformation. With a sharp and precise instrument, guided by compassion and a steady hand, I employ thought-provoking questions to offer unique perspectives. Relatable humour and visual concepts are naturally woven in, making the journey both manageable and insightful. I will enter your story, bearing witness to your pains and joys.
Holistic therapy and coaching allows us to work with the whole person, dedicating time and awareness to each part. We consider your emotions, memories, habits, physical responses, spirituality, beliefs, relationships, and surroundings as we strive for a mind-body-soul connection.
I initially offer six therapy/coaching sessions. During the fifth session, we can discuss the option of additional sessions if desired. Each session lasts for 50 minutes is conducted over the Google Meet. I also offer a few sessions during the evening to accommodate various schedules.
These therapy/coaching sessions happen in a professional yet comfortable environment, within walking distance from Enfield Town.
Parking is available.
If you prefer a single session for moments when an issue arises or when facing a significant life decision, and you'd like to discuss it with a therapist/coach, I offer 1.5-hour sessions. This is offered virtually.
I’m not sure where my hunger for service began, it feels as if it has always been with me, a part of me. Raised in South Africa, I received my BA in Human Science and Social Services, followed by Honours in Counselling Psychology. Before relocating to the UK, I dedicated myself to service in orphanages, mentoring underprivileged children as a camp counsellor, and was a trauma counsellor in a South African government hospital. My time in the hospital included training in trauma, bereavement, Pre- and Post-HIV & AIDS therapy, as well as spiritual and pastoral counselling.
Now settled in London with my family, I am pursuing further studies in counselling accredited by the BACP. Additionally, I've trained as a Life Coach and an NLP practitioner, equipping myself with more tools for facilitating transformation and desired outcomes.
I have studied a variety of modalities and find myself “flowing” between the Person-Centred Approach, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family System, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming. The intuition of the modality that is used is based on the individual and scenario.
While I hold expertise in clinical, textbook-based, or Western psychology, I've always felt drawn to Theology, Eastern Philosophy and one's spiritual experience. I believe in honouring and integrating both dimensions—mind, body, and soul—for holistic healing and transformation.
My spiritual journey has fostered a deep relationship with God, enriched by prayer and meditation practices, as well as a comprehensive understanding of Eastern Philosophy through a four-year course and shamanic retreats.
As a lifelong dancer, I've witnessed firsthand the healing power of movement. I incorporate QiGong into my daily routine—a form of intentional movement derived from martial arts. The body stores memories and emotions, unresolved trauma can manifest as illness if not addressed. Thus, I recognise the importance of integrating somatic practices into the healing journey.
Proteas are crafted with resilience, and designed to withstand wildfires. During the fires, their seeds germinate, bursting from their pinecones in the extreme heat. After the flames subside, dormant buds stir to life, blossoming anew. Their remarkable root systems enable survival even in nutrient-poor soils.
This symbol points me in the direction of rebirth, resurrection, and the fiery phoenix. Just when one thinks fire has had the last say of death and ash the protea emerges, defying despair, loss, and darkness. What appears as barren soil becomes the fertile ground for the protea's triumph and full potential.
I hold this belief when connecting with those who have endured trials and wounds so deep that they feel on the brink of giving up. Yet, they persist. Something within them, a flicker of hope, hints at purpose and meaning. Though unclear, like smoke after a fire, their path seems destroyed & deselected. A tender blow of encouragement, a belief in their capacity to thrive, may be all it takes for their potential to bloom. They're destined for a purpose beyond the flames that once engulfed them.
